In a few weeks time, Chris Robinson, our sales & technical director, is running the London Marathon on behalf of Willow Wood Hospice. As the UK’s leading partner reseller of Marathon Technologies’ high availability/disaster recovery software, we thought it was an appropriate fundraising event; even more so since the software is called everRun.
This year the Marathon is taking place on Sunday 22 April and Chris explains why he will be putting his best foot forward for the Hospice. “I’ve been training for the London Marathon since last November, spurred on by the thought that ‘Marathon reseller runs London Marathon’ was too good an opportunity to miss. I last ran the London Marathon in 2005 and achieved a race time of 3 hours 55 mins 07 seconds. As well as raising funds for Willow Wood, which is our local hospice, I would dearly love to knock a few minutes off that time!”
John Fellowes, head of fundraising/PR at Willow Wood Hospice said “24/7 Uptime have been a long term supporter of the hospice and we are delighted that Chris has chosen Willow Wood as the beneficiary of his efforts. Willow Wood relies almost entirely on the local community to raise vital funds in order for us to provide the very highest levels of care to those in need of our specialist services. It is because of people like Chris and his colleagues at 24/7 Uptime that we achieve our aims.”
To make a donation and spur Chris on his way please feel free to donate to our 24/7 Uptime Marathon Just Giving page – every contribution helps, especially when he gets to those last few miles!
