A recent study by the Aberdeen Group looks at the evolution of virtualisation and the growing need to run virtual servers and applications on high-end, fault-tolerant hardware in order to avoid costly downtime events.  No surprise that the top 40% of companies who have implemented server virtualisation tend to be those that also deploy on a fault tolerant server platform – and hence are gaining a number of benefits including:

  • Reducing the overall number of servers they need
  • Reducing or completely eliminating costly downtime
  • Making disaster recovery easier and faster
  • Achieving faster application deployments
